Jim,

Your friends and family will be able to track your progress on race day!

They may visit the web site, hit the link that reads "Track your athlete" and then they will be asked for a name or bib number.

The results are uploaded every three minutes, and are fed to the web after you cross a course tieming mat.

Thanks,

Dave

The Race Day Tracking will be put up on the website on the home page - much nearer to race day. It will be EASY to find, to see, and to navigate on Race Day! It is coordinated between our web folks and our timing company so the exact day/time it goes up cannot be determined yet. Your "at home spectators" will only need to know how to get to the Redman Triathlon website with your bib number handy. If they don't have your bib number handy they will be able to see it under the "registrants" tab on the site as well. Your bib number will be posted to the site sometime today under the bottom more current portion of the registrant list (if it isn't already posted as I type this!). As a side note, you will need that bib number to put on your medical form as well. Hope this helps. See you in a few days!

Athletes will also be able to be searched for by name.

The athlete tracking function is now on the home page of the site. Be sure to let your spectators know: 1) That tomorrow when they look at the site, they will click on the place for tracking you. Then they'll need to select your event (Half Iron, Aquabike, etceteras), then they'll search for you by bib # or name. 2) That may not see your name or bib number until tomorrow after the race begins and some racers/results begin passing through the timing mats that send the data to this link! 3) That occasionally there are communications challenges beyond our control with on-line tracking of results. Our ability to report data is limited to the cell services and tower services at the time. These on-line results will update/refresh approximately every 5 minutes. If for some reason there is a delay in the "refreshing" on-line, it most usually means there is a "reception" delay. It'll refresh as soon as the service picks up the avenue to communicate to the link. Enjoy!

I'm thinking there must be a delay. I have done all of this mentioned above, but nothing is posted. I went to the event but nothing is there to enter information. Wondering if there is a clitch, if anyone else is having problems or if I'm just a moron and not able to find something simple. :)

I don't see any link to track athletes, and it's nearly 0930 race day.

Ok good so I'm not an idiot. :) haha. I've been waiting to see my hubby's results and nothing. So I must be in the right spot.

The words are there "Check here for Redman updates" but they have not made it a live link. At least, my logic tells me that this is the case. It is frustrating for those who were counting on this feature so that they could keep up to date with their friends, family etc.

Ya know---the single most important piece of any race's site on race day is the athlete tracking! Why is it such a common problem getting the online tracking to work. I see it alot on other events. VERY frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well this is just so disappointing! I wasn't able to go due to kids being sick and I'm missing out on the only way to 'watch'.

thank you. He won it last year so we are hoping for a repeat of that. However, he didn't train as well this year so we'll see. There is also a pro doing it too. The suspense is killing me. :)
