| Dave...in one of your communications you mentioned the possibility of family at home being able to follow the race with live coverage through the internet web site. Is this going to happen and how will it occur?? Thanks. |

| The understanding is that it would be via the Redman site. |

jayhawk,
There will not be posted stories or any particular coverage.
What we are offering this year is the ability to track an athlete as they move along the course.
With updates every three minutes the site should reflect a pretty accurate presentation of each athletes progress. There will be a leaderboard as well.
As your family member or friend visits the site, they will see an icon on the page that will link them to the tracking site, which will be "logo'd" with the RM trademark.
Thanks,
Dave

| According to weather.com it's now a 60% chance of rain on race day. As many of you know when you are riding on the road in rainy conditions you tend to have more of a chance of getting a flat due to lots of tiny rocks being washed onto the roads. I hope the support vehicles are prepared for that. |

But . . . weather reports in Oklahoma are only valid for the next 24 hours (sometimes less than that).
I wouldn't be TOO concerned until Wed/Thurs, or unless there's a major "weather system" brewing in the Gulf, like Hurricane Rita in 2005. Fortunately, we didn't see the after-effects of Rita until the Monday/Tuesday after the race. |

| Dave, with the live tracking, will there be halfway splits times updated on the bike and run course? Or will it just be total time for each leg? |

This is what I do.

apw ~ The "Track Your Athlete" feature is new for us this year! You should see, at minimum, the Swim, T-1, Bike, T-2, and Run Splits. You should also be able to do an athlete search by last name should someone forget their athlete's bib number. As you know, we cannot truly "test" until all the racers, numbers, etceteras are populated in the system, and the race is on! But I'll be back with another post once we confirm the exact data that should be captured. Sharon |

Okay, here's the scoop:
Data to be captured:
Full: Half:
Swim Swim T-1 T-1 Bike 28 mile split Bike 28 mile split Bike 56 mile split Bike Total Bike 84 mile split Bike Total T-2 T-2 Run 6.6 mile split Run 6.6 mile split Run 13.1 mile split Run Total Run 19.8 mile split Finish Run Total Finish
This assumes we get good wireless (cell) coverage across the course. The plan is to pull in each split once the first athlete crosses each mat, then query the location continuously, with an export data file created every three minutes that will auto post to the website. These will be UNOFFICIAL results, as any penalties will be assessed once the head ref brings any penalties to the timing company to add in.
Again, these will be UNOFFICIAL times on the website.
Hope this helps!
Sharon

| Awesome. I have some friends that can't make it up for the race, but will be watching me online. So for them to get some split times, rather than waiting 6:30 for me to finish the bike before the next update is great! |
